Three wishes. Two lovers. One destiny.

When the snarky Glory St. Pierre discovers the gold mechanical vase in her deceased grandmother’s basement, she has no idea that she has uncovered a priceless treasure: a genie lamp. With a real genie inside. A very sexy genie with a not-so-sexy grudge against the entire human race.

Irving Amir hates being called a genie. He’s a Djinn, and he is none too happy to be in the service of Glory, who is as intolerable, and beautiful, as humans come. Now he owes her his gratitude for freeing him and three wishes. Damn his luck.

But an arrow through the shoulder alerts Irving to the fact that he is being hunted, and after a truce dinner with Glory ends with them both almost being killed, hating each other goes right out the window. As feelings change and love starts to develop, they must dig through the secrets and lies to find the truth...a truth neither of them will ever see coming.

This is the story of Glory St. Pierre who finds a lamp and a key in her grandmother's basement. When she turns the lock in and nothing happens, she goes to asleep. Only to be awoken by a hot, sexy djinn with an attitude. With three wishes in hand, Glory is determined to make them last and count. And the fact that Irving is forced to stay with her, something that irritates him to no end, is a bonus for Glory. But when Glory accidentally wishes for something that Irving warned her was dangerous, she finds herself in danger and on the run from the djinn hunters that want to kill Irving. But Irving is not exactly who he says he is. Even though he would do anything to protect Glory, even bringing her to his world, there is a reason why the hunters are after him specifically. And Glory, through she doesn't know it, has secrets that could break them apart forever!

Glory is one of those snarky characters you love from the start! She was independent and strong willed despite the fact that her life was in danger. She doesn't jump into a relationship with Irving but considers everything before actually getting into a serious relationship, She was down to earth and feisty!

Irving....HOT DJINN!!! Drool worthy, swoon worthy! The fun banter between the two was absolutely adorable! Even though we don't see much of the cover model, i'd say he's pretty hot!!

The plot itself was super intriguing. We didn't go into depth too much in this book but with a cliffhanger like this one, which leaves us in the midst of a battle, i'm sure the next book will go further into plot development. Plus you have that awesome steam punk factor that comes into play through mechanical bats and stuff!! It was incredibly genius to give Irving's character a passion for creating things because it gave his character a depth.

I think that Irving and Glory's characters complemented each other perfectly. They were both stubborn and possessive of each other. Some parts of the book was a little obvious but it didn't really bother me, The world building of the djinn world was super well done and kind of weird-like the servants entering Irving's room when he's naked and not caring!

The prince and the princess have really got my attention. Ada is this strong and badass princess and Edwin is the funny one stuck in an arranged marriage.

This book has a unique combination of steam punk and djinns and magic, and it does not disappoint! I am so  happy i have the ARC of book 2 so i don't have to deal with that cliffhanger :p I definitely recommend this to all fantasy lovers but there are some sexual situations. It's a pretty short read of about 150 pages but it's an adventure you will enjoy!
