TITLE: Wish For Me

SERIES: The Djinn Order, Act One

Three wishes. Two lovers. One destiny.

When the snarky Glory St. Pierre discovers the gold mechanical vase in her deceased grandmother’s basement, she has no idea that she has uncovered a priceless treasure: a genie lamp. With a real genie inside. A very sexy genie with a not-so-sexy grudge against the entire human race.

Irving Amir hates being called a genie. He’s a Djinn, and he is none too happy to be in the service of Glory, who is as intolerable, and beautiful, as humans come. Now he owes her his gratitude for freeing him and three wishes. Damn his luck.

But an arrow through the shoulder alerts Irving to the fact that he is being hunted, and after a truce dinner with Glory ends with them both almost being killed, hating each other goes right out the window. As feelings change and love starts to develop, they must dig through the secrets and lies to find the truth...a truth neither of them will ever see coming.

This is the story of Glory St. Pierre who finds a lamp and a key in her grandmother's basement. When she turns the lock in and nothing happens, she goes to asleep. Only to be awoken by a hot, sexy djinn with an attitude. With three wishes in hand, Glory is determined to make them last and count. And the fact that Irving is forced to stay with her, something that irritates him to no end, is a bonus for Glory. But when Glory accidentally wishes for something that Irving warned her was dangerous, she finds herself in danger and on the run from the djinn hunters that want to kill Irving. But Irving is not exactly who he says he is. Even though he would do anything to protect Glory, even bringing her to his world, there is a reason why the hunters are after him specifically. And Glory, through she doesn't know it, has secrets that could break them apart forever!

Glory is one of those snarky characters you love from the start! She was independent and strong willed despite the fact that her life was in danger. She doesn't jump into a relationship with Irving but considers everything before actually getting into a serious relationship, She was down to earth and feisty!

Irving....HOT DJINN!!! Drool worthy, swoon worthy! The fun banter between the two was absolutely adorable! Even though we don't see much of the cover model, i'd say he's pretty hot!!

The plot itself was super intriguing. We didn't go into depth too much in this book but with a cliffhanger like this one, which leaves us in the midst of a battle, i'm sure the next book will go further into plot development. Plus you have that awesome steam punk factor that comes into play through mechanical bats and stuff!! It was incredibly genius to give Irving's character a passion for creating things because it gave his character a depth.

I think that Irving and Glory's characters complemented each other perfectly. They were both stubborn and possessive of each other. Some parts of the book was a little obvious but it didn't really bother me, The world building of the djinn world was super well done and kind of weird-like the servants entering Irving's room when he's naked and not caring!

The prince and the princess have really got my attention. Ada is this strong and badass princess and Edwin is the funny one stuck in an arranged marriage.

This book has a unique combination of steam punk and djinns and magic, and it does not disappoint! I am so  happy i have the ARC of book 2 so i don't have to deal with that cliffhanger :p I definitely recommend this to all fantasy lovers but there are some sexual situations. It's a pretty short read of about 150 pages but it's an adventure you will enjoy!

Elsa may be the Hereditary Princess of Vattenguldia, but she finds the entire situation archaic and unsavory. While she wants what's best for her country, she isn't about to jump into an unwanted relationship—let alone a marriage—with a virtual stranger. Of course, her feelings matter little to her parents, whose wheeling and dealings over trade pacts and alliances achieved at her expense begin the moment they set foot in California for the Summit. So when a blindingly handsome royal runs into her, she doesn't hesitate to tell him there's no way she's marrying him. Christian is all too happy to agree: no marriage. As the Hereditary Grand Duke of Aiboland, his main goal is to get through the summit without a bride being foisted on him. Which is why he suggests they help each other field potential intendeds. As Christian slowly gets to know Elsa, though, he realizes they have a lot more in common than just their feelings about the Royal Marriage Market. Only he can't fall for her, because royal or not, they're not meant for each other. Elsa and Christian will have to evaluate matters of the heart verses those of state and crown, and decide whether or not tradition trumps love.

"The perfect royal romance." Nichole Chase, New York Times bestselling author.

“I denied myself the éclairs earlier and then resolved, as I stared up at the ceiling for a good hour, that life is too short to not indulge in things that bring about small joys.”
I wander over to the island, positioning myself on the opposite side. “Éclairs bring you such?”
His grin grows. “Hell yeah, they do. Want one?”
Three éclairs rest upon his plate. “Will it bring me joy?”
“Have you ever eaten an éclair in the middle of the night, Els?”
I blink at the nickname he bestows upon me. No one has ever called me Els. Not a single person. It’s bizarre, because one would think such a derivative would be natural, but Her Serene Highness was strict about such things during my childhood. My name is Elsa. I ought to be called Elsa. Nicknames are common, and she claimed she wanted more for me.
Whatever that meant.
Despite our earlier conversation concerning his own, though, I happen to like nicknames. “As a matter of fact,” I say, absurdly pleased at the bestowment, “I have not.”
“Then this shall be a first for you.” He shoves the plate my way. “Don’t worry. Éclairs eaten in the middle of the night have no calories. If they did, I’d be at least five pounds heavier already.”
It is impossible to not grin like a fool. Are we really standing here in the kitchen, in the dead of night, sparring with one another again? And why is it so bloody entertaining? Small joys, indeed. “Is that so? Well then. This will be more than just a first for eating an éclair in the middle of the night. It will be my first time consuming a calorie free dessert, too. Who knew such things existed?”
“Shall I make you some warm milk, too?”
I blink again, abruptly unsteady.
“You were rooting around in the fridge for milk to heat up, weren’t you?” He motions to his own mug. “As it helps with snoring parents?”
I counter with, “Why were you sitting here in the dark?”
“I’d had my cell’s flashlight on, but switched it off when noises sounded outside the door. I suppose I wasn’t too keen on being caught rummaging around the kitchen in the middle of the night.” He touches the ceramic in front of him once more. “Yes or no?”
I gingerly select one of the éclairs, shivering at its coldness. “Actually, yes. I would very much like that. Do you know how to heat up milk?”
The room may be dim, but there’s no mistaking the comical yet wounded look he proffers. “Everyone knows how to do that.”
“Not everyone. There are surely milk virgins in the world.”
He wanders over to the fridge and extracts a carton of milk. “Rest assured, I am no milk virgin. I’m thirty, remember?”
It is my turn to nearly choke as I swallow a far too large bite of éclair.
“No choking allowed. If four a.m. rolls around, the calories will come back.”
I clear my throat. “Is three a.m. a magical hour, then?”
He heads over toward the stovetop, where a small pan rests upon another stainless steel countertop. I angle our phones’ flashlights his way; shadows crawl around his body as a blue flame erupts from a burner, allowing me to ogle silently at a well-shaped arse. Goodness. Will his too-ness ever cease?
“As a matter of fact, it is. All the best firsts should be experienced at three a.m.” He sets the pan on the stove and adds milk. “But it’s a witching hour. The magic only lasts for sixty minutes before turning ordinary once more.”
With the next bite of éclair, pleasure bursts across my tongue. Curse him for being spot on about pastry-based joy.

TITLE: The Demon's Grave
AUTHOR: E.M. Maccallum
SERIES: The Demon's Grave Book 1
PUBLISHER: Self-Published
SOURCE: Free copy in exchange for an honest review

When strange shadows and messages plague Nora's daily life she fears for her sanity. To escape questions from her family, Nora joins her friends on a weekend getaway. Despite not liking Aidan Birket, Nora finds his remote, Victorian house charming. Until they discover the marble doorway on the third floor and, against Nora's better judgment, they open it.

Drawn into an unfamiliar place called the Demon's Grave, the group face a charismatic demon and a set of Challenges. Six nightmarish realities for the six of them is the punishment. Those that make it to the end can go home, but those that don't will be his forever. Friendships are tested, secrets revealed and sacrifices will be made.

Nora battles zombies, doppelgängers, eyeless bikers, and the demon--whose interests are more than just a game of cat and mouse. If it's all in her head, then it should be easy. But, if not, it means the demon knows everything and her past and the death of her twin sister.

So basically this is a story about a group of college students that decide to go camping and end up at one of their friend's inherited victorian house. But before going on the trip, they've all been plagued by weird nightmares and Nora in particular who has been to countless therapists thinks that she's going crazy again when she finds a weird note in her textbook with her handwriting and an invisible finger tracing words in her shower stall.

I think this book was really good and throughout i could see it like a movie in my head. But there was a ton of cliche stuff too. I mean Phoebe, is the one that causes all of this simply because she wandered upstairs all alone in the dark while everyone was yelling at her to get down. This book takes place in the modern world, she wasn't drunk so after knowing the cliches of a typical horror movie how much could we blame humane curiosity? She should be like tied up to a tree or something! I guess it's the group's immature behavior that threw me completely off. But i do see this as a movie in my head. Like an Action/horror but if you read it, it will definitely give you a movie vibe.

The characters were all super unique. You had Phoebe, the brave and reckless one, Cody the quiet athlete who never talked, his girlfriend Robin who was all cute and talkative, Read the handsome player, Aiden the new guy who's trying to fit in and Nora. Nora, i couldn't get a specific read on her. She was an okay character but nothing about her really stood out unlike the rests. And sometimes she would say things that i couldn't quite understand so i couldn't really follow the dialogue. I liked the idea that she thought it was her dream and that she would wake up.

The writing was also fine but the plot was amazing! Sometimes it scared you and other times literally made you shudder and at times just plainly creeped you out, The challenges were tough and horrible, You had to watch as they were separated, tossed together again and then separated again. There were loads of things that was just plain weird but this book will definitely keep you at the edge of your seat because the action and mystery is non-stop from the beginning to the end.

I wished we'd gotten more of the demon because he only popped up a few times, Cliffhanger alert! Loads of things have been left unanswered but one of my complaints would be the lack of romance. I love romance in all my books and i know this one is an action/horror book but there were many hints at romance, even if they weren't developed i wish we had some of it. There were loads of repetition about "hot breaths" on her neck and the like so that kinda irked me a little....

The whole book revolves around them getting out alive and around the mystery that is Nora because she seems to be super important and she doesn't know why. More and more questions pop up instead of answering the previous ones. I think that is a negative and a positive in the way that it keeps your mind reeling but it also frustrates you to no end...

So if you guys are into action-packed mystery filled books this one is definitely one for you!

What inspired the premise for your story? I enjoy fairies, witches, elves, mermaids, any other magical creature. However, in most cases, one magical creature is looked down upon sometimes. This is the witch. They’re made to be these long nosed, ugly pimpled women who boil up deadly potions in their cauldrons. You get the point, they’re not as beautiful and pretty as the other creatures. So, I flipped it. I have a witch who is born and trained to kill mermaids, fairies, elves and any other creature. I thought it would be cool to flip the switch and have a witch be the hero of the story instead.
Why is the setting to your story so important? I wanted my story to be in the city, because it’s different and cool to me. To have mystical creatures disguised as humans going to college or at parties is pretty rad.
Did you always want to be a writer? If not what did you want to be? Initially I wanted to work in Public Relations and to be a Publicist under entertainment, print and media. If writing happens to become anything bigger I’ll be more than happy to come up with more stories to tell!
When did you first consider yourself a “writer”? Joining Wattpad, a reading/writing, site made it very clear that I could do this writing thing pretty well. I had little fans waiting for my stories to update because they were so interested in finishing it. When you have people who invest that amount of time in your work, your books it means something. I officially labeled myself as an author after two years on Wattpad.
How long did it take to get your first book published? I did not plan on publishing Mystical at all. I had a clear plan to just keep it on Wattpad. An agent reached out to me on the site and asked me to send her my manuscript and then I decided to start pitching to agents. Of course you’re going to get rejected, but it made me change my mind and so it took me about 5 months after I was completely done with my sequel in the series. I landed a traditional publishing deal.
What were your aspirations as an author and have any of them come true? Well, one of them was getting published and that came true! Another was working with a professional editor and that’s come true as well. I’m a pretty happy camper!
What have you learned about the publishing industry since you’ve signed that first contract? That an author has no say in what they want done with the book. The editing is pretty much your only say, the cover and everything else marketing wise that’s completely up to your publisher!
Now that you have a feel for the publishing world, would you do anything different if you had to do it all over again? I would do a bit more research with who I’d like to do business with. I would be much more detailed with what I want for my book and maybe think once or twice about being agented or just being traditionally published.
What genres do you normally write in? I absolutely love Fantasy, Urban Fantasy and Dystopian. It’s when I feel most limitless.
Is there a genre you haven’t written in that one day you’d like to tackle? Romance
What was the craziest thing you’ve ever done when it came to a storyline in your book? Cut a complete chapter out and rewrite it! It was scary, it was brutal, and it will never happen again!

Hello people of the bookish world! I found another awesome tag @ my little book blog called the Bedtime Book Tag! okay well hope you enjoy and let me know your thoughts are in the comments!

There are just so many books for this question and it's impossible to choose only one! It's seriously impossible, so to mix things up a bit i'll pick a contemporary and that is The Boy Who Sneaks In My Bedroom Window by Kirsty Moseley! This is one of my ALL TIME favorite contemporaries which i've read so many times! It's about this girl and her brother who ran away from their abusive dad and the brother is super overprotective. What he doesn't know is that his best friend, Liam, has been sneaking into his sister's room since they were kids and holds her until she falls asleep. How could he suspect when they act like they hate each other in front of him! Anyway it's a beautiful romance but it's not really a cute and light read, there are some pretty heavy subjects like abuse and all. BUT HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I always read this one in one sitting!

I don't think i've ever read a book that has actually made me scared to go to sleep...yet! But this one was pretty creepy and i actually lay awake when i finished it and wondered about this stuff happening to me! So yeah it's a little scary! Chain Letter by Christopher Pike!!

I was looking forward to this book so much because i did enjoy Alyson Noel's "The Immortals" series even though a lot of people hated it. It's true that they did drag on at times but i did like them a lot. Fated, had an AMAZING start and i was immediately swept up but then after four chapters or so, i got extremely bored. I finished it, because i bought it but i was forcing myself hoping that it would get better, annnd it just didn't. This book had so much promise though and a super cool plot but it just didn't grip or hold my attention...

Ever since i heard that Pippa Dacosta was releasing a new book in the world of The Veil Series, i immediately started getting antsy. I NEED THIS BOOK SO BAD! Some characters are returning and i'm hoping so bad that Muse and Akil are back, i just want them back!!! The veil series was 5 books long and it wasn't nearly enough, after i'd finished the box set i was suffering from Akil withdrawal and now i just cannot even wait till i can get my hands on this piece of awesome sauce! I don't know how i'll cope until JUNE 2016 *rocks back and forth in a corner*.

THIS QUESTION IS PURE TORTURE!! Book in singular!? Oh Crappy crap crap, i just have so many!! Daemon Black from The Lux series (DUH!!!) Akil from The Veil Series, Ignifex from Cruel Beauty..just so many but i'll choose someone different for the sake of it! And that is one of my TOP 1 book boyfriends, Irial from The Wicked Lovely Series!!! Dark, gritty and evil he is the king of the dark court and beautifully dark!! I LOVE THIS DUDE! He is in the first book but becomes a main character in Book 2 of the Wicked Lovely series, Ink Exchange, and remains a main character for the rest of the series!

Do i really need to explain why??? Well for starters, what are the odds that for six years of your life you're entered in a competition where you have to kill or be killed?

I received this book for a blog tour of book 2. This book, this book had the most mindblowing cliffhanger ever. It finishes with one sentence, one sentence that you never see coming, one sentence that literally breaks you apart. My heart literally stopped, i remember very well, when i read that last line. I felt like i hadn't read it correctly and kept rereading until i was just frozen in shock! (You can find my review for book 1 here and book 2 here). I also remember saying thank you over and over again to my ceiling because i had the ARC of book 2 and was able to start it RIGHT AWAY!

I received an ARC of this book a few months back. This cover reminds me of darkness, yes i know she's underwater so obviously it's dark..but hey if it was daytime the water would have been paler huh, *elbow nudge*. Loved this book so much, there is a kind of love triangle but it isn't exactly what you think it is. This book was filled with twists and turns you never saw coming and it's very misleading! You're in for a suprise! (find my review here) There's a cliffhanger annnnd we have no indication if there's even going to be a Book 2...

This is one of my favorite contemporary reads EVER!!! I don't even remember the number of times i've read this book-it's just pure AWESOMENESS!! Ellie is this cool, funny tomboy character who'd rather skateboard then use eyeliner and then there's Seth, her uber hot new neighbor who practices throwing knifes at a dummy in his garage shirtless. Add that to serial killer on the loose who's killing girls with Ellie's profile and you get a bunch of awesome twists. turns and mystery! This book played with me, made me believe something one moment and then the opposite the next! I did actually dream about this book after i read it the first time and almost every time after i reread it! And you'll be sure to laugh a lot with this one! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Well i did encounter a pretty creepy Wendigo in Alyxandra Harvey's book, Red. *shudders*. (I received an ARC for a blog tour find my review here). Except this one was overly creepy because it behaved a little like a human and it had human trinkets in its hair that would fall everywhere when it moved!

Anyway that's it! Hope you guys enjoyed and give it a try! Leave me links :P !
