Goodreads Summary

Kadence Sparrow wasn't born a devil's child—she was turned into one. Now, she's hiding from the truth, and running for her life.

For years, Kade's true nature has lurked behind an illusion, so when her dad gets another job transfer, she knows the drill: no close friends, no boyfriends, and most importantly: don't expose what she is. Ever. Keeping secrets is easy. Lies are second nature. So is the loneliness—and the fear, but when the Shadows attack, and Kade meets Cole Spires, she could expose everything she's trying to hide.

As one of the Celestial Children, Cole lives by an oath: defend the Ward, protect the Primordial race, guard the gateways, and stick to his own. Everything else is a distraction, and besides, he’s lost enough. Cole's job is clear, and no one his age does it better. So, when he meets Kade in a club downtown, he assumes she just wants his attention. Most girls do, but Cole soon realizes ... Kade isn't like most girls.

The children of heaven and hell are living among us, fighting an age-old war. And falling for someone from the opposition is not an option. But a chance encounter between Kade and Cole will blur the rules, as Kade's journey to keep her truth hidden catapults them together and into a web of lies, forcing her to not only face the demon inside her, but to answer the hardest question of all.

Which is thicker—blood or water?

MY REVIEW

Basically you have this race called the Primordial-the celestial children. Now this race is divided into 2. Primory and Primeva( Primori with demon blood- like a tainted lineage). Then there are also demons that  want to conquer them all and turn everything into a hellish world. The primordial guard the gates and protect the humans however, the 2 groups are lifetime-old enemies.

Cole Spires is a Primori and the head of his brotherhood. Cocky and arrogant he is the best his kind has ever seen. Kadence has been haunted by a demon since she was little and know she's become one of those monsters. To escape, she moves time after time and never gets close to anyone in fear she might reveal her secret. But when she goes to a club with her new found friends, she sees the shadows that are wandering and lurking about to attack a boy. she crashes into him to save him but little does she know, Cole is the last person who needs help from the shadows. He is a master at killing them so needless to say when a pretty girl crashes into him he does't suspect what she could be at all...days pass but Cole is fa from getting Kade out of his mind and the more he tries to forget her, the more she appears out of nowhere until he finds out that Kade is not a human girl and so much more connected to his world than he could ever imagine.

Okay this book...just....

It's honestly a hidden jem! Characters WERE AMAZING! Cole-hot, cocky, super strong, possessive and protective. can ya go wrong there?? i think not! Kade was a really strong character but sweet at the same time. I loved her moments of losing control because that's when she seriously kicked some butt!!
Romance-PERFECT!  there is insta-love but you kinda learn to role with it because they are a pretty sweet couple! So i didn't mind it too much...
The plot, i don't think i ned to explain more, everything was very well researched and though out! I wouldn't say perfect execution because it was really confusing until Cole explained it from the start to Kadence. I was totally lost at times-hence the 4,5 STARS and not the 5 STARS!  pretty confusing with all the latin words...

I really will be continuing this great series! Recommended to all YA lovers! Trust me once you get the plot it will take your breath away-if you can deal with the insta-love :P

Goodreads Summary

Em returns to Austin Valley, but there are many things that don’t add up about her homecoming. She’s left Rogue behind and is adamant that Dr. Parker must leave the Valley with her. Zack agrees to help her, but soon learns she’s not telling the whole truth when Rogue comes storming back. With the threesome reunited, they work on a plan to stop the Defect crisis. Their plan places all of them at risk, but Em knows they have no other choice. Hundreds of kids are being injected with poison every day and Nona, her sister, is one of them. Em Fuller has one mission and will stop at nothing to achieve it: Bring the government of Austin Valley down.

MY REVIEW

After running away with Rogue, Em lives happily with her new found love in their new house. Except that Rogue's headaches keep getting worse and she can't bear it anymore. Determined to make him better, Em sets off  in the middle of the night back to Austin Valley to seek the help of Doctor Parker and bring him back to Rogue,. Once there, she reunites with her other best friend Zack, but he seems more distant than usual and says things Em can't make sense of. To gain Doctor Harper's trust, she will have to break the mind control Vider has over him all while remaining hidden. Astonishing discoveries lead to the truth about the death of Rogue's mother and the ultimate lengths that Vider has gone through to achieve his goals. Em is disgusted and the more she learns, the more she realizes she has to stop Vider at any cost.

Okay i LOVED the first book! You can find my review for that here. The only book that actually made me cry-as in full on tears and not sobbing- was clockwork princess because come on it was GENIUS. Rebels kept my heart on a whirlwind throughout the book, it kept me high with exhilaration and action. AND THEN IT BROKE MY HEART IN 2!!!! and cue to crocodile tears!!!! That ending-just-i can't even wrap my head around it! I actually wanted to toss my kindle on the floor and i actually screamed in my pillow..i know i can be dramatic but i just love these characters! I took a while contemplating if i should give this book a 3 star because of it but then i though it was worthy of a five star! Because it really made me  feel-and that's how i know this is a great story because i am so attached to the characters!

Em is growing stronger by the day,. Her determination grows and i can't help but feel so proud of the girl who used to sneak into her dad's office who is now breaking into medical labs! She becomes this symbol of rebellion-even though her rebellion only consists of Rogue, Zack, Nona, (Parker & Tutu?) and herself...she doesn't let that dampen her goals. i Think my only problem with her was the fact that she couldn't see that Zack loved her.

One of my favorite things about this book is the "bad guy"-Vider. I  don't know how the author managed to make me hate him even more than i did before-he is the most repulsive and cruel dystopian  villain i have ever read about. The plots associated with him were just GENIUS! I loved every second of it and man i really want him to die!!! He doesn't even deserve to live after what he's done! I won't tell you what-read it and feel the disgust and shock for yourself.

The side characters are all well developed and we really come to love each and every one of them! For example Tutu (Em's grandma) is hilarious and cheeky, Nona is a hell of a determined fighter and Ren (Em's uncle) never fails to make me laugh! He really has this attitude thing going on but you know he has a soft spot for Em and i loved their banters! Definitely one of my favorite characters!

I know book 3 will be EPIC. Th last part of Book 2 left me heartbroken and i wish it was false-i really wish. But it feels like its definite and i have a feeling Em will be completely warrior-like. She will be deadly and she will create the best rebellion yet in the YA world! For me, this rebellion actually surpasses that of "Mocking Jay" because Em is doing everything herself. She isn't merely a symbol-she is the root of rebellion! The emotion in that last chapter-just wow.
Sarah Noffke is definitely taking the dystopian world by storm and i can't wait to see what happens next!!!

MY REVIEW

Okay so i haven't read the first book in the series...and when the author approached me with a review request i was a bit skeptical that i would be able to understand the story and jump into the world building...but i am SO HAPPY to say, i was immediately sucked into the story and was able to understand it without having read book 1! So here's what i understood:

Basically, Grace is a guardian angel and lives in heaven with her boyfriend and fellow guardian angel-Josh. From what i gathered, Josh wasn't always an angel-he was actually a demon that caused Grace's death. Well i guess they fell in love and boom now they're living happily ever after together in heaven. Except it isn't all that cracked up as they thought it would be. Grace misses her family and is torn because she doesn't have the right to meet them; she has to watch her little brother turn to the world of drugs and crime without having the right to help him. Meanwhile, Josh is battling with his insecurities of the past, is he really meant to be an angel? In the background and main plot, the two angels have to find the next Antichrist and save him before Lucifer gets a hold of that person. Because if Lucifer gets hold of the Antichrist, heaven is doomed.

I don't think i need to say anything more about the plot. It was kept simple and yet very intriguing and like i said i was able to jump right into the world of heaven and hell! The concept is pretty cool and i loved that the author did not focus on only one possibility of the Antichrist, we got to see the prospective souls and the struggle the angels faced to help them and figure out who the Antichrist actually was. I can't say i was surprised at whom the Antichrist actually was-i figured it out but it still didn't steal any of the book's awesomeness. Plus, the book was told in Josh's, Grace's, Kiera's and Noah's POV so that definitely keeps things interesting!

Grace is a gentle soul. Yes she can be a hell of a fighter and super protective of her family but for me, she is an angel. She's sweet and gives you this image of her as delicate but not weak. Josh, as i learned, was an ex-player and i guess a little cocky being a demon and all, i loved the fact that he was so in love with Grace and so dedicated to her. However my only issue, is that i think he looked a  little weak to me and i get the feeling that he did a total turn from the guy he was in book 1-like his character changed completely not just from bad to good..of course i haven't read the first one so it's just my impression :) Kiera was for me, the most exciting character. She struggles with internal wounds that keep being inflicted on her and despite that fact that sometimes she comes out as evil, you can't help but like and admire her! Noah, the hot bad boy turned evil! He's also suffered most of his life and he is a broken character which made me feel so much more for him!

Awesome cliffhanger ending, i would love to find out what happens next! If you're into angels and demons, this is definitely a series to pick up!

Goodreads Summary

LIFE IS A NIGHTMARE FOR Miranda Murphy. Without knowing when or why, blood oozes from her palms—an anomaly that makes her feel like a freak. But her abnormality is now the least of her worries. She’s just enrolled at “Suicide High.” Three deaths in three months—one occurring just days before her arrival.

When she bumps into a cute boy named Jake, things don’t appear so glum. Especially since Jake’s a psychic who can predict the immediate future. But his gift of sight can’t prepare her for the horrors that await.

Through Jake, Miranda meets three other extraordinary students:

Topher – who can heal by touch.
Sam – who eats the sins of the dead.
And Xyan – who speaks and understands all languages.

It’s then that Miranda learns the secret behind why she bleeds.

When it becomes evident that supernatural forces are at play, the five determined friends team up. Now it’s up to them to destroy the evil that's infecting their school.

MY REVIEW

Miranda is an anomaly, her palms spurt out blood. Enrolled at a new school, she meets three other "gifted students" who can see the future, sin-eat and speak all the languages! But Miranda's new school has been nicknamed "suicide high" for a reason. Students keep committing suicide and it's up to these four to figure out why these kids are killing themselves.

Plot wise-wow! Super original! A person who shoots out blood? You gotta admit that definitely peaks your curiosity! I loved the mystery that kept going throughout the book. I kept asking myself why they kept wanting to die and who was behind it-was there even someone behind it in the first place?

Dax Vaeley is definitely an amazing writer with lots of talent! Her writing keeps you on an emotional roller coaster! I loved that there was alternating POV's so you really got to know each character individually! Sam has got to be my favorite! He's sweet and so hilarious i was laughing through almost all his dialogues! Xyan is the tough one-at first she gave the impression of a bully and i was quite wary of her but then i warmed up to her. The author keeps the suspense and twists going through the whole novel-keeping you on the edge of your seat and making you experience those nail-biting-ohmigod-what's-gonna-happen-next moments!

I just have to mention the violence in this book! AMAZING! It actually gave me chills and i loved reading it at night on my kindle with all the lights off (yeah i'm weird like that :P ) Vivid, is the only way to describe it-it felt like you were there watching the scenes unfold with all the details-just wow!

Overall a great read, for anyone who loves Christopher Pike and likes a bit of horror in there YA will absolutely love this book!

Goodreads Summary

Queen Bennua has grown into a powerful ruler. With her new laws encouraging rights for both men and women, Haya-Maa has grown from a small city into a prosperous nation. Engaged to Zahid, the handsome Raider Prince, it would seem the young Queen is ready to lead the desert of Sahrahn into paradise.

But not all are so eager to follow the new Queen. A short time into her rule Haya-Maa erupts into civil war, rebels opposing the idea of a woman in power. With no other option Bennua must embark on a quest to find her missing friend, Toshana, who could hold the key to ending the bloodshed. Yet as her journey wears on Bennua discovers her title as Queen powerless against the wrath of gods and the wars of men. At her breaking point, Bennua finds the only way to save her country and defend her people...is to offer a devastating sacrifice.

MY REVIEW

We left Bennua in book 1 as she plans to enact her rule and offer a bright new dawn for her country. She has fallen into a routine and despite the rebels that oppose her rule, she stands firm and has Zahid at her side to support her. As her wedding to the man she loves draws closer. a new enemy rises from another land and becomes the face of the rebels opposing Bennua's rule. Except this rebel is linked to Zahid in a way she could never have imagined and he is a bigger threat than Bennua ever anticipated to face. She and Zahid will journey to find their lost friend , Toshana who might be the key to peace but along the way they meet a strange young man but for some reason Zahid doesn't trust him like Bennua does...could it be more than jealousy? Will the new rulers come back in time to save their kingdom?

Once again, entering this amazing new world of Sahrahn has left me breathless! Let's talk about our queen! In book 1 she was a lovely and warrior-like princess. In this book? SHE IS A MONARCH!!!  She has matured so much and yet she still has that touch of innocence that i loved in Book 1! her dedication to her country was extremely touching and her selflessness exemplary. She has to make the ultimate sacrifice for the greater good and cannot help but be so proud of her! That's not to say that she is without faults-like the rest of us she is a mere mortal..or is she? Hints in this book have left me a little suspicious..

Plot wise-as usual short, intriguing, gripping and AWESOME!! This book definitely took a turn for the better because this time, the author surprised me by incorporating the supernatural!! A hilarious Djinn, monsters, floating islands and two GODS!!

I loved that her relationship with Zahid was put to the test, it really added more depth to the two because they were able to surmount a lot of stuff....There was one moment about 87% through, I FELT MY HEART STOP!!! I never EVER thought this would happen and i could feel my heart breaking!! I won't spoil but-OH MY GOD!!! i cannot wait  to see how book 3 will be!

Set in a new magical dessert, a queen while fight for her kingdom and for her love, But will it be enough?
